Clarence Mabe, is now part of at least two hall of fames.
The FACE Amusement’s Founder and former Boone head coach has been inducted into the American Amusement Machine Association 2024 Hall of Fame. He was chosen by his AAMA peers to be added to the Hall of Fame which is a true honor for the recipients.
“I’m blessed. It’s an honor that very few people get,” said Mabe in the press release. “So, I’m honored that they chose me.”
“Clarence was, and remains an industry disrupter,” said American Amusement Machine Association Executive Vice President, Pete Gustafson, in the release. “He took what others were doing with family entertainment centers and improved on it in ways big and tiny, including displaying redemption prizes all throughout the venue creating colorful and exciting backdrops everywhere a guest looks.”
In his company bio, Mabe is credited with creating and licensing several arcade game titles, including Toss Em, Alley Cat and Basket Fever. He’s also credited together a pivotal role in developing the Ticket Time Crane alongside SMART Industries.
FACE Amusement Group owns and operates hospitality and entertainment locations throughout the United States, including Arcade City, Big Top Arcade, Rockin’ Raceway Arcade, 7D Dark Ride Adventure, LuLu’s Beach Arcade and Mountain of Youth Ropes Course, The Branson Coaster, The Mirror Maize, Guy’s Branson Kitchen and Bar and Downtown Flavortown.
That’s not the only hall of fame to which Mabe belongs.
Clarence Mabe also served as a member of the Washington County Board of Education in support of several years and is part of the Daniel Boone High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
Mabe was the Boone baseball and girls basketball coach from 1972-1986. Daniel Boone’s baseball field now carries the name Clarence Mabe Field.
