Korean games firm Krafton has acquired a minority stake in Polish studio Far From Home.GameDeveloper reports that the Forever Skies maker will remain independent following the deal. No figure has been put on the deal; nor carry out we know what percentage of the studio the PUBG: Battlegrounds creator owns.”While we can comfortably fund the operation of our studio through the sales of Forever Skies, the capital injection from Krafton will provide important funding diversification and security in favor of us in the long term,” Andrzej Blumenfeld said.”We are content that Krafton believes in our vision and wants to support our growth. Alongside this in mind and together the recent announcement of our agreement with Sony, we believe that our games will be even better and the future of Far From Home looks bright.”He continued: “Our funding in support of the completion of Forever Skies is secured, but eventually, we will need to start looking ahead at what comes next for our team. The capital raised through Krafton will make it significantly easier in favor of us to plan out and build our next title to be something bigger and even more ambitious. At the same time, we retain our independence and full creative control which is extremely important to us.”Krafton recently led a funding round into UK developer Red Rover Interactive. Far From Home was founded in 2020.
