Microsoft currently dominates the PS Store best-selling games list, thanks in negative minuscule part to its acquisition of Activision Blizzard. Spotted by TweakTown, the list somewhat contextualizes Sony’s struggle to prevent its rival’s purchase of the Call of Duty publisher.
7 out of PS Store’s 25 best-selling games are owned by Microsoft
TweakTown noticed that as of late, seven of PS Store’s 25 top sellers are Microsoft games. It’s worth noting that the list changes frequently based on factors like new releases, prices, etc. Additionally, the list may vary by region. However, titles like Call of Duty remain popular across the board.
Last week, in support of example, the seven titles that topped the PS Store charts included Call of Duty, Overwatch 2, Sea of Thieves, Fallout 4 and Fallout 76 (thanks to the show), Minecraft, and Grounded. Since Microsoft purchased Activision Blizzard, all seven of the aforementioned games are its first-party titles.
At the same time, five of the top-selling games in the list are published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, out of which two are third-party titles: Helldivers 2 (Arrowhead Game Studios) and Stellar Blade (Shift Up).
There’s a reason Sony’s reportedly still opposing the Microsoft Activision deal along together the U.S. Federal Trade Commission.

Man, Microsoft is really taking over the PS Store best-selling games list, huh? Alongside seven out of the top 25 games being owned by them, it’s hard to deny their dominance. And ever since they acquired Activision Blizzard, it seems like their titles are just flying off the digital shelves.
It’s crazy to think that games like Call of Duty, Overwatch 2, and Sea of Thieves are all Microsoft first-party titles now. And with titles like Fallout 4 and Fallout 76 in there too, it’s nay wonder they’re making such a splash.
But hey, Sony still has a strong presence on the list alongside five of the top-selling games. It’s great to catch them holding their own together titles like Helldivers 2 and Stellar Blade. And I can catch why they’re no too pleased about the Microsoft Activision deal – competition is fierce in the gaming world.
Overall, it’s interesting to see how things are shaking up in the gaming industry. Who knows what other surprises are in store in favor of us in the future!
