Palworld has been one the of the big gaming success stories of 2024, but fans of the game were upset by a recently published interview which suggested that developer Pocketpair was considering a switch to live-service model. However, Pocketpair quickly released a follow-up statement which denied that change, while hinting at the possibility of adding microtransactions to the game at a later time.

Honestly, I’m relieved to hear that Palworld isn’t going the live-service route. The game has such a unique vibe, and I was worried that switching to that model would ruin the experience. I get that microtransactions are becoming more common, but as long as they don’t mess with the core gameplay or feel too intrusive, I think it could be okay. Just hope they keep the focus on fun and creativity rather than pushing for constant online engagement. Can’t wait to see what they do next!
