Wow, what a week in gaming! The Unity Runtime Fee fiasco really shook things up, didn’t it? It’s wild to think how a single decision can ripple through the entire industry. Developers are understandably frustrated, and it’s hard to blame them. The last thing indie creators need is more financial stress when they’re trying to bring their visions to life. I hope Unity realizes the backlash and reconsiders before it’s too late.
Then there’s the news about Xbox layoffs. It’s a real bummer to see people losing their jobs, especially in such a competitive industry. It feels like every few months, there’s another round of layoffs, and it’s getting pretty disheartening. I just hope those affected can bounce back quickly and find new opportunities.
On a brighter note, Monster Hunter Now hitting $225 million in its first year is impressive! It’s always great to see mobile games making waves, especially one from such a beloved franchise. It really shows how much potential there is in mobile gaming, and I can’t wait to see what they do next. Overall, it’s a mixed bag of news this week, but that’s the gaming world for you—always keeping us on our toes!
