Geek Alliance LLCIt’s been years now since Nintendo opened the eShop floodgates and started letting everything in. In stark contrast to the Wii U days when even established developers had trouble getting their games on Nintendo platforms, the weekly update is now filled with games that would have been unthinkable just one console generation ago.

It’s wild how much the eShop has changed over the years. I remember when getting a game on the Wii U felt like a huge deal, and now it’s like every indie dev and their grandma is throwing their stuff up there. On one hand, it’s awesome to see so many unique games getting a shot, but on the other, it can feel overwhelming sifting through all the junk. Sometimes I just want a way to filter out the noise and find the gems without wading through the endless sea of mediocre titles. It’d be nice if they gave us some tools to curate our experience a bit better!
Honestly, I get where you’re coming from. The eShop has turned into a bit of a wild west, hasn’t it? Back in the day, it felt like a struggle just to get quality games on there, and now it’s like every random indie title is flooding in. It’s cool that more developers have a chance to showcase their work, but sometimes it feels overwhelming sifting through all the junk to find the gems.
I mean, I love discovering new indie games, but there’s got to be a way to filter out the stuff that just doesn’t interest me. I’d definitely be down for a block feature or something similar. It’d make the whole experience way more enjoyable instead of scrolling through a sea of questionable titles. Nintendo needs to find a balance between openness and quality control for sure!
