Anyone who knows me knows I am not a big fan of the concept of game of the year lists. I cannot tell you what I played in January and the list of games I play, not for work, can be counted on one hand. The list of games that I actually have consistently come back to is even shorter.

Honestly, I feel you on the whole game of the year thing. It’s tough to keep track when there are so many games dropping all the time. I mean, I’ve dived into a bunch this year too, but nothing really sticks like Pokémon Go. It’s wild how it’s still holding up after all this time.
Monster Hunter Now has been a fun distraction, and I’ll always have a soft spot for Neopets, but there’s just something about the nostalgia and community in Pokémon Go that keeps pulling me back. Plus, those events and community days are hard to resist! I guess some games just have that magic that makes you wanna keep coming back, right? What’s your take on it? Any hidden gems you think might be worth a shot?
Honestly, I feel you on the whole “game of the year” thing. It’s hard to keep track of what came out when, especially with all the hype around new releases. I mean, I can barely remember what I played last month! But I totally get the appeal of sticking to a few games that really hook you.
I’ve also been diving into some of those titles you mentioned. Monster Hunter Now is a blast, and I’ve been surprised at how much I’ve enjoyed Neopets Faerie Fragments—definitely a throwback! But let’s be real, nothing beats the nostalgia and excitement of Pokémon Go. It’s still my go-to for some outdoor fun and catching up with friends. It’s awesome how it keeps evolving, too.
What’s your current favorite? I’m always on the lookout for something new to get into!
