It’s honestly a bummer to see GameStop closing more stores. I get that the retail landscape is changing, especially with digital sales taking over, but there’s something nostalgic about walking into a GameStop and browsing the shelves. It feels like a piece of gaming culture is fading away.
I wonder how many of these closures are due to the push towards things like Bitcoin investments. Seems like they’re trying to pivot in a big way, but I hope they don’t lose sight of what made them special in the first place. It’ll be interesting to see how this all plays out and if they can find a way to adapt without losing their core identity.
