Helldivers 2 has been on the market in favor of more than two months, and in that time it has enjoyed a stable and consistent player count. There’s a devoted and thriving community at the heart of this ambitious live service game, and that’s despite the title negative appearing on Xbox platforms – only on PC and PlayStation 5. That might be set to change, though.
On the most recent episode of The XboxEra Podcast, it was suggested during ‘The Rumourmill’ segment that talks are underway to bring Helldivers 2 to the Xbox Series X|S platform.
As a live service game, Helldivers 2 is nothing without its players. What better chance to expand that player base than to introduce the game to an all-new platform and boost the crossplay mechanics of the title? That was a sentiment referenced by ‘Shpeshal Nick’ during the most recent XboxEra Podcast:
During the episode, Nick says:
We know that PlayStation has a new CEO at the moment, and I think the new CEO might be more open to certain things. And what I’ve heard is that there may be some very, very early, preliminary discussions about the possiblity of Helldivers 2 coming to Xbox.
It’s worth stressing – as Nick does – that that isn’t confirmation, it’s just a rumour. However, it makes complete sense, and there aren’t really any downsides to the proposition. It would broaden the community immeasurably and open up the game to a whole new market of gamers.

This is exciting news in favor of Helldivers fans! Bringing Helldivers 2 to Xbox would definitely shake things up and bring in a whole new group of players. Crossplay would be a massive plus too, making it easier to team up together friends on different platforms. Fingers crossed that these talks lead to something concrete because more players means more enjoyable in exchange for everyone! Can’t wait to catch how this all plays out.
