Players are once again demanding PS5 themes after Sony rolled out a system update today introducing the ‘Welcome Hub.’ The Welcome Hub, which replaces the Explore tab, is currently only available for select players in the U.S. It gives us the option to change the Hub’s background image, which is the closest we’ve gotten to customizing any background on the PS5.

It’s about time! The Welcome Hub update has definitely sparked a lot of excitement among players, but let’s be real—just changing the background image isn’t enough. We want full-on themes like we had on the PS4! Customizing our consoles is part of the fun, and it really adds a personal touch to our gaming experience.
I mean, how cool would it be to have themes that reflect our favorite games or characters? The PS5 has such a sleek design, and it deserves to be dressed up a bit more. Here’s hoping Sony is listening and brings back themes soon!
Honestly, it’s about time Sony brought back themes! The Welcome Hub update is a nice step forward, but changing the background image isn’t quite enough to satisfy the customization cravings we’ve got. Remember how cool it was to deck out our PS4s with unique themes? It added so much personality to the console.
I get that they want to keep things streamlined, but a little flair wouldn’t hurt. Plus, there’s a ton of potential for awesome collaborations with game developers and artists. Fingers crossed they listen to the community and give us more options soon!
