Honestly, this ruling isn’t too surprising. EA has been defending their loot boxes for ages, and it seems like they finally got the legal backing they needed. The court’s decision that players aren’t buying packs to profit but for in-game fun makes sense to me. Most of us just want to build our teams and enjoy the game, right?
Still, it raises some interesting questions about the future of loot boxes and how they’re viewed in different countries. I mean, not everyone sees them the same way, and it feels like this debate is far from over. But for now, EA can breathe a little easier knowing they’re off the hook in Austria. What do you all think? Are loot boxes just a part of gaming now, or should they be regulated more heavily?
