Two Epic directors step down following DOJ antitrust investigation Chinese tech and entertainment giant Tencent has removed two directors from Epic Games’ board following a US Department of Justice (DOJ) investigation into antitrust laws.  In a press release from the government body , the DOJ said that the board members had violated Section 8 of the Clayton Act. Moon Beast Productions lands $4.5m in seed funding Moon Beast Productions has secured $4.5 million in seed funding.  The investment round was led by 1AM Gaming, with 1UP Ventures, The Mini Fund, Overwolf, Versus Ventures also taking part in addition to angel investors.  The studio says that this cash will be put towards developing a new and innovative action RPG title “that challenges conventional design paradigms”. 11 Bit Studios makes layoffs Poland’s 11 Bit Studios has laid off an unknown number of staff.  In a post on its website, the company said that it had cancelled work on Project 8, which was to be the outfit’s first console-focused game. Sony will shortly own 10% of Kadokawa Sony will be acquiring a fresh load of shares in Japanese entertainment giant Kadokawa and will soon own 10 per cent of the company. On January 7th, 2025, the PlayStation giant will be buying 12,054,100 new shares at Y4,146 per share.
