Valve now warns Steam consumers they are buying license not game PC games giant Valve has introduced an upfront warning for its Steam users that they are not purchasing a game but instead are buying the license to access a game.  The new warning was spotted by Engadget and appears to be brought in ahead of a new California law coming into effect in 2025. Cryptic Studios reportedly makes further cuts Neverwinter and Star Trek Online maker Cryptic Studios appears to have made another round of layoffs.  Game Developer reports that a number of staff have taken to LinkedIn to post that they had been hit with these job cuts and that they wouldn’t be working there beyond October 31st.
