Ubisoft to close XDefiant, lay off nearly 300 staff French publishing giant Ubisoft is closing down its free-to-play shooter XDefiant.  In a blog post , chief studios and portfolio officer Marie-Sophie de Waubert said that the game hadn’t been able to bring in and retain enough players to sustain the game. Tencent snaps up majority stake in Kuro Games Tech and entertainment giant Tencent has acquired a majority stake in Chinese developer Kuro Games.  That’s according to Gematsu , which reports that the company has snapped up a new 37 per cent stake in the company.
